Pre-existing conditions are usually chronic health conditions that are under medical control, these plans don’t cover all pre-existing and are often medical conditions such as:

  • heart problems (including bypass surgery)
  • chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
  • stroke
  • asthma
  • diabetes
  • certain allergies
  • certain skin conditions

The above conditions are only a general listing, always refer to the policy plan insurance brochure under plan exclusions for the exact terms of coverage. Common plan exclusions include:

  • mental illness
  • hemophilia
  • epilepsy
  • chronic infections
